Ontario Place is being redeveloped into a remarkable world-class, year-round destination that’s fun for everyone. The government’s vision for Ontario Place will provide people of all ages with something to enjoy, including destination attractions, more than 50 acres of free parks and public spaces for everyone, expanded trail systems, improved waterfront access with new playgrounds, beaches and boardwalks, additional spaces for festivals and markets, a new fully-accessible public realm, and a modernized marina with opportunities for waterside cafes and restaurants in the heart of Ontario Place.
In addition to the free public spaces and parkland, the province is also working with key partners to deliver exciting programming across the site, including an all-new Ontario Science Centre, an enhanced year-round concert and entertainment venue with Live Nation, a family-friendly waterpark with Therme Canada, an upgraded central Marina and new food and beverage options across the site.
Once complete, the redeveloped Ontario Place will be open to the public 365-days a year, with free public access and a waterfront experience that everyone can enjoy. It will also create thousands of new jobs and attract up to six million visitors each year.
Today, the government is working with Infrastructure Ontario to upgrade the site and ensure it is ready for redevelopment. This work includes flood mitigation, shoreline repairs, water quality improvements, soil management and infrastructure replacement, as well as planning for the future enhancements to the public spaces and parkland.
