Development Application Resubmission
In November 2022, an Official Plan Amendment and Rezoning Application for Ontario Place was submitted to the City of Toronto. Since then, we have advanced the design based on input from Indigenous communities, the public, the City of Toronto and stakeholders. We have also conducted additional studies to support the updated designs and to better understand site conditions.
Following two public meetings in early September to present the design revisions and answer questions, an updated application was submitted the City in mid-September. The application process was paused in December 2023 with the passing of the Rebuilding Ontario Place Act, which provides the Minister of Infrastructure with the authority to make Minister’s Zoning Orders for the site. A MZO for Ontario Place was filed on May 17, 2024 as O. Reg. 194/24. As a result, the municipal development application is no longer required.
