Municipal Development Application Submitted
On November 25, 2022, the Ontario government submitted a development application to the City of Toronto to seek Planning Act approvals to facilitate the development of the new vision for Ontario Place. More information about the development application, including opportunities for engagement can be found on the City’s Application Information Centre.
The development application is specific to the early phases of redevelopment, including Therme Canada, the Pods and Mainland areas. Approximately 40 technical reports and plans were submitted and are now under review by the City of Toronto.
Designs presented in the development application will continue to evolve based on the City review, on-going Environmental Assessment (EA) process, and further public consultation. A final design for the future public space at Ontario Place will be selected through the EA process and submitted to the City as part of an updated development application in 2023.
